It has been said that “democracy is the worst form of government – except for all the others”. This has been graphically illustrated by our current political situation. Is the source of the problem human failings and imperfection? Could AI (artificial intelligence) solve this problem? Is it a workable solution or does it create its own set of problems? This idea has been explored many times in science fiction, but many of the issues assumed in those stories predate a multitude of advancements in the field. But once human autonomy has been ceded, is it gone forever with humans little more than drones? Or would it free up human ingenuity to focus on improving the human condition.?

Discussion Groups are moderated forums with preselected topics. Anyone who wishes to participate in the civil discussions is welcome to do so. The groups nominally represent different geographical locations and will morph back into geographically located in-person discussions when we can do so, for now we meet using zoom. They are currently held every Thursday. The topic for each discussion is announced in advance, sometimes with recommended reading.

RSVP to see the zoom information to your right.
